So things are settling down around here and I am beginning to find my feet.
One minor problem however is the huge amount of free time I have… Yes that’s right. In Japan it always felt that not a moment was wasted, I would always be working or driving around or involving myself in some kind of time filling activity. Here I work for 8 hours a day and then moment after moment is wasted. Tonight Raphael and myself were so bored we walked to a nearby dog training park and listened to old women yak about various dog training related things for an hour and a half. Cabin fever is certainly beginning to set in.
I try to busy myself by chopping wood or cleaning various parts of the house or reading the limited supply of books, but eventually I succumb to Richards way of thinking and just drink beer and laze around. It is not a very admirable (not to mention productive) way to live and the sooner I get a car the better… and a computer… and an internet connection… and a liver failure…

Why can't you just go for long walks or buy some of those books you always wished you had time to read? I think you are probably just adjusting to being away from japan and its way of life -i think that you may just need to get used to a diffrent pace of life. All paces have some validity.
