Okinawa Part 3

I want to go back!!!!

Ah the old "bottle on the head with the nachos in the mouth" pose.... classic!!!

This guy was extremely cool. He knew (and more importantly liked) some of the most obscure and brilliant British bands!!!

And the guy pictured here is an incredible guitarist (not me obviously). I awoke one morning (or maybe afternoon) to hear him going through almost every best Red Hot Chilli Peppers song and then most of the new album to boot!!!!

There are of course many other people that are not pictured (although they do turn up in that montage a little) like: Macci (31) the "shark dentist", a very cool guy who couldn't speak much English but on my last day said "I will miss you" (heartwarming ain't it?), or Reimei (26) the Japanese girl who desperately wanted to go to England (I of course asked "why?") and asked for me to show her around but I never saw her again), or the Korean guy on the first night, he was a really cool dancer however it all seemed irrelevant when he told me he was having two weeks holiday and then had to serve for a mandatory two years in the Korean forces!!!, or Teima the R+B princess who woke me up on one of those "party" mornings to say goodbye but in the closing comments she uttered the word 'cancer' but I couldn't tell/ can't remember/ didn't understand if she meant she had it or what.... The encounter still haunts me...

There are many others of course, but they are the most memorable, and the experiences I had in Okinawa, particularly in Sora house will last a long time. Every night was a party, be it a make your own Sushi night (very fun, in the end the ladies were feeding the gentlemen their own hand crafted sushi treats) or talking for half the night and then dancing the rest of it away in a (normally pretty swanky) club, or having a beautiful steak meal (imported from Australia, there is very little beef in Japan) prepared right in front of me whilst Amyeric and I chat about various (mostly quite geeky) subjects. my Japanese improved almost ten fold because everyone was so enthusiastic and supportive of my learning and the old alcoholic beverages weren't that bad either!!!

So, much fun was had. There are a couple of observations I haven't touched on yet but I will link them into the Tokyo blogs. It is getting late and I have a mountain to climb tomorrow (I am very very excited) ,also those pesky philipinos are having a small drinking session and it would inpolite not to join them you understand?

I apologise for the disjointedness of these blogs but after next week there will be another break as a second holiday may be looming. I've heard Kyoto its a beautiful place!

Yodelehihooooooooooooo! (strange Swedish yodeling mountain reference)

Final Brucy Bonus:

Don't worry I haven't made plans to stay in Okinawa for the rest of my life. Naomi (31) is one of the staff at the hostel and the brains behind the montage and this charity event I don't fully understand it yet but I do intent to look into it when I get some time. You probably should too if you think of yourselves as kind, giving, charitable people.... or not, do what you like, I don't care.

Two questions!
1. why are you wearing a scarf on a sunny beach?
and B. Why have you turned such a funny shade of pink?

You are confused (using 1 and B to make consecutive points). But A its not a scarf, its a head towl, drinks coaster, screen wiper, fashion accessory etc and 2 It is extremely hot in Okinawa, that and the nuclear radiation of course.
